I pursued a career in Massage Therapy several years after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/Educational Psychology/Family Social Science. I was convinced that I wanted to work with people in a healthy, helping profession. I enrolled at Brenneke School of Massage (now Cortiva Institute) in Seattle in 2001. After graduating in 2002, I started a part-time private practice and continued my massage education. Within a year, I was working at The Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie, WA. It is here that I learned bodywork, practicing with other highly skilled Massage Practitioners and working on many different people everyday from all over the world. In 2007, I relocated to San Juan Island, Washington to open the Afterglow Spa at Roche Harbor Resort as the Lead Massage Practitioner/Assistant Spa Manager.

My journey to work in a healing profession expanded as I began to pursue making the connection between body, mind, and spirit and health and healing. In 2004 I began studying The Hakomi Method through the Seattle Hakomi Educational Network. For two years, I participated in ‘Personhood Workshops’ learning mindfulness, loving presence, nourishing communication and client-centered systems of guiding others to self-discovery and connection. In 2003 I discovered Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy on my own personal self-development journey. Realizing the powerful potential yoga has on our entire being, not just our bodies, I continued on my path of becoming a body-mind therapist. I completed the training to be a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist in the winter of 2007. I have learned the power of inner wisdom, energetic presence, and intuitive body-centered transformation. In 2008, I became a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Teacher. Therapeutic Yoga classes emphasize going beyond yoga's benefits to the physical body to allow the student to explore the inner self and work toward positive life change. Over the years I have studied many bodywork modalities including Reiki, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, Heated Stone massage, Thai Massage in Northern Thailand, and many more.

I am dedicated to self-development and growth through my work as a body worker and my practice of Yoga. My intention is to provide a safe and sacred space for others to experience their own self. Everything we need to know to accept growth and change is within us. By connecting deeply to that inner knowing we can begin to heal.
